'NOT' An Artist's Statement!   My work provides no answers nor does it remove any doubts. Rather, it manifests many of the issues and questions I have about the changing nature of art and the inherent message experienced uniquely by the ever changing observer through art. If my work results in the transfer of the latent energy in the art to the observer such that a response is catalyzed (any response!) or a shift occurs in perceptive cognition (for better or worse) - however infinitesimal - then, my art has justified itself. On the other hand, if my art is simply pleasing or displeasing, it again has justified itself. The point is that it does not matter! My work does not have a ‘position’ in that it is not defined by a singular idea or concept or a specific style. In fact, my art deliberately explores a multitude of ideas, processes, concepts and messages – clashing rather “head-on” with the self-proclaimed art intelligentsia who are unaware of their enslavement by their ‘purist’ beliefs. For those who are truly interested in my motives, read on… my intent with my art covers a range of personal objectives that may appear broad at a cursory glance. However, an implicit uniformity and focus does exist – it just may not be readily evident – many times not even to me – but it’s there!
